Higher Education
Lincoln University
Lincoln University is part of the Missouri state system of higher education. With its enrollment of nearly 2,200 students and 62 degreed programs, Lincoln is a major contributor to the community not only because of its undergraduate and graduate programs of study, but also for its leadership role in the community.
State Technical College of Missouri
State Technical College of Missouri is the only public two-year technical college in the state of Missouri with a state-wide mission. Granting the Associate of Applied Science degree, State Tech offers to the entire state of Missouri, as well as area business and industry, graduates that are trained in highly technical fields. With an enrollment of over 1,800 students, State Tech provides education in over 35 technical programs.
Columbia College
With its main campus just 30 miles away and a satellite location in Jefferson City, Columbia College offers a wide range of fully accredited college degree programs in accelerated eight-week courses that are convenient and affordable for students of all ages. The college enrolls 8,122 students in its Missouri campuses including 1,002 students in the Jefferson City location.
Nichols Career Center
Nichols Career Center, one of nearly 60 area career centers in Missouri, is located on the Jefferson City High School campus. Nichols offers a variety of career and technical programs that prepare students to enter the workforce, military, or technical colleges and universities upon graduation. With an enrollment of 552, Nichols is a valuable contributor to the Jefferson City labor force.
